Native Youth Pomo Culture Classes at SCIHP begin with prayer and blessing to ask creator to help us with the Youth and our plans to reach out to them, by passing on our heritage and culture. Next, we share the history of our Pomo people and educate the Youth on Regalia-making and Pomo Dance Classes. Through Culture and Heritage we can give our Youth something positive to be involved with, and show real alternative culture to drugs, alcohol, and street gang life--which threatens to take kids here in Sonoma & mendocino counties before we can show them otherwise.We aim to help the Youth become healthier adults, set goals & accomplish their dreams.
